Typica Mejorada has a Geisha like in structure and contains the pear and bergamot like in which almost like a geisha like complexity. Ecuador has been unstable due to political and economic factors over the past 2 years, with the likes of Competition such as Taza Dorada, the coffee industry in Ecuador is on the road to revival.

This rarities is planted in Dota, Tarrazu by the Leiva siblings. Planted at high altitude of 1900 masl, the micro climate is similar to what the environment is back in Ecuador. This is a first harvest lot from seeds that was obtained from the Taza Dorada back in 2017. Finca La Florida is perfect for the planting of this variety due to slopes and the microclimate of Dota

Typica Mejorado is an improved version of typica and mainly grown in Ecuador. Though it is commonly misnamed as Typica Mejorado. Based on the genetic testing by World Coffee Research – Typica Mejorado is actually a Bourbon Variety which is cross pollinated with an Ethiopian Landrace variety.

As an expert in processing the Honey process, the Leiva siblings has decided to process this coffee as Red Honey. Red honey is similar to other honey processes. Only a small percentage of the cherry skin is removed prior to drying on the African beds.
