Ethiopia Guji D Minor Natural
Region Oromia, Guji
Altitude 2,250+ masl
Variety Heirloom
Tasting Note Blueberry Jam, Peach, Rose
This is the batch we launched in 2020 in collaboration with Kakalove. The manager of Kakalove, after going to the Ethiopian production area with us for two years by fate, may have some understanding of our bean-seeking logic, concept (or paranoia), and fully authorizes us to find it. A batch of beans came back, so this D-Minor was born. The first batch of D-minor has performed very well. It scored 95 points in Coffee Review in July, and the second batch scored an astonishing 97 points.
The 2021 batch still uses green beans from the same exporter and the same processing plant, so let’s call it a perfect replica. The processing plant is located in a remote part of the middle between Yirgacheffe and Guji Shakiso, and it is particularly laborious to go from either direction. The GPS-measured altitude of this plant is more than 2300m. Even in the dry season, the temperature is very low, and the daily sunshine and high temperature time itself is short, which can be said to be a natural slow-drying treatment.
