Tamiru Tadesse is the founder and CEO of Alo Coffee Export PLC, a specialty coffee exporter from Ethiopia. Tadesse is well known in Ethiopia and famous in the specialty coffee industry. He has won the 2021 Ethiopia Cup of Excellence (CoE), scoring 90.06 points out of a potential 100 with an Anaerobic processed coffee.
He works with about 200 farmers in Delo kebele, Bensa zone of the Sidama region. He collects about 182,000 kilograms of red cherry from an estimated 80 hectares of land owned by the farmers. Tamiru processes anaerobic and natural coffee which is dried on a raised bed with mesh wire. He then sells his coffee on the international market, mostly to China.
