Farm: Yirba Muda Farm
Tasting Note: Rum, Grapes, Berries, Cantaloupe, Strawberry, Peach, Strong and Complex
April 2020, 96 points*
August 2020, 95 points**
November 2020, 95 points***
We introduced it for the first time in April 2020 in cooperation with American producer. The first year, a small batch of trial productions has a great flavor, and it is also on Coffee Review. Very high score of 96 points. For the batches of the 2020 new production season, we once arrived in June and sold out immediately after being highly praised.
The batch we put on the shelves in April 2020 is reported to be the same batch as the US roaster’s 96-point batch (and ranked 10th in 2020), which is really worth the money. The results of this bean model in 2020 are still amazing, with 95 points*** in August 2020 (and ranked 14th in the year), and another 95 points*** in November. Among the 30 seats in the annual ranking, this bean model occupies two seats.
For the 2020 batch, in addition to continuing to advance and refine the production process with partners in Ethiopia and the United States, the flavor is also more explosive. It is the explosion of a fruit bomb. It gives a strong stimulation to the taste buds from the entrance, and a variety of wine and fruity floral aromas flow in, until long in the throat, a variety of different flavors continue to emerge. If you want to dig out the wonderful flavor elements of each level of this coffee, you can try to increase the coffee to water ratio or reduce the concentration to experience different tastes. For the batches that arrived this time, the November Coffee Show has already provided first samples for everyone to appreciate the flavor, and the inquiries are extremely high.
This batch is a special post-production/fermentation processing technology, and the appearance and flavor intensity of green beans are different from traditional processing methods. This batch is a customized order for the second year. It has been specifically requested to cooperate with the producer’s final processing before export to increase the selection criteria for increasing the defect rate. Compared with the 2019 batch that was launched in April 2019, the bean image has been greatly increased. However, it is difficult to avoid the appearance of raw beans and broken beans after long-term fermentation. Customers who are more obsessed with traditional processing experience, please do not buy.
Short flavor comment
After grinding, it has a strong aroma of rum, grapes, berries and cantaloupe. The first entry is based on strong and solid rum, grapes, and marinated cherries. The middle section has strawberry, peach, cantaloupe and floral aromas, and the end has rum raisins, cocoa and a little spice. The flavor is strong and layered. Complex and changeable.

** For the 2019 batch, the partner only informed that it was Sidamo. When discussing the process, terrain and climate and other further information this year, they learned that the location of the processing plant is actually located in Guji’s Anasora. Since the old Guji is part of the broad Sidamo production area, Called Sidamo. After discussion this year, it has been renamed as Guji Anasora.
