Geisha Coffee is one the earliest varieties of coffee in the world. Some may call it “Geisha” while others may translate as “Rose Summer” (Similar Pronunciation as Geisha in Chinese).
With a name implying gentleness and floral fragrance, this is a coffee that is hard to forget once you have tasted it. It is also the frequent winner in the national cup competitions and is frequently appraised highly.
A good Geisha coffee should have a dominant floral fragrance and citrus fragrance, bright and elegant acidity, smooth and clear taste and an exquisite aftertaste!
Located in the high altitude volcanic mountain regions, Boquete enjoys access to the fertile volcanic soil, high landscapes, cold air, varying sunlight, abundant rainfall and the myriad of streams and rivers. These properties are what make the Panama specialty coffee special. Coming from the same plantation area as the Hacienda La Esmeralda, this batch of coffee is grown in an area with continuous mountain valleys and ridges, so there are different micro-climates leading to different unique characteristics in coffee produced in different sectors! The light texture of citrus, the bright feeling of the tropical fruits and the interweaving of the delicate floral fragrance with elegant taste.
