Negussie (Niguse) Gemeda Mude is a smallholder coffee producer located in Karamo Kebele, Bura Woreda, near Hayisa village in Ethiopia’s Sidama Zone.
In 2020, he earned first place in Ethiopia’s inaugural Cup of Excellence competition, achieving a score of 91.04 with his sun-dried Sidama natural coffee—outperforming nearly 1,400 entries from across the country.
Following this achievement, Niguse expanded his work by establishing the Karamo processing station, where he partnered with local smallholders to elevate coffee quality throughout the region.
